Hannah Waddingham dances to Thames busker as she teases new Ted Lasso season
Actress Hannah Waddingham was spotted on the South Bank of the Thames in London when a busker began playing the 1952 blues song “Kansas City.” She stopped, joined the music, sang along and gave the performer a tip, describing the moment as “I just want to get involved.”
Waddingham, 52, known for roles in “Sex Education” and as Rebecca Welton on Apple TV+’s “Ted Lasso,” said the experience reminded her of the upcoming fourth season, which launches on Aug. 5. The new season will open in Kansas City and follow Rebecca’s visit to convince Ted (Jason Sudeikis) to return to London and coach a women’s team. The series’ third season was Nielsen’s most‑watched streaming original of 2023.
The actress, described by friend Cynthia Erivo as “Amazonian in stature and spirit,” highlighted the show’s shift toward new characters and storylines, including the women’s team and assistant coach Alice.
