Hanoi and Nghe An officials push for infrastructure and regional development
Hanoi officials have ordered the immediate commencement of construction on key infrastructure projects as soon as land clearance is completed. During a meeting led by Chairman Vu Dai Thang, Vice Chairman Bui Duy Cuong emphasized that entities receiving compensation for technical infrastructure or civil works must relocate according to project schedules to avoid delays. The city has established a priority timeline for seven bridges crossing the Red River, with the Department of Construction tasked with weekly and monthly progress monitoring.
In Nghe An province, authorities are reviewing a draft scheme to develop the western region of the province through 2030, with a vision toward 2045. The western region accounts for approximately 83.3% of the province's area and 36.5% of its population. While the region has seen stable economic growth and improved living standards for ethnic minorities, challenges remain regarding infrastructure synchronization and economic competitiveness. The proposed plan aims to foster sustainable development and narrow the living standard gap between the western region and the provincial average.
