Hanoi approves relocation of 'Quyet tu de To quoc quyet sinh' monument

The Hanoi Party Committee Standing Committee has reached a consensus on the plan to relocate the ‘Quyet tu de To quoc quyet sinh’ (Determined to Die so the Fatherland may Live) monument from the Ba Kieu Temple relic area in Hoan Kiem Ward.

The relocation is intended to support urban planning and landscape improvements for the eastern area of Hoan Kiem Lake. According to the Hanoi Monument Management Board, the monument is slated to be moved to the 692nd Regiment of the 301st Infantry Division under the Capital Command.

Authorities specified that the move should only occur after the official announcement of the Hoan Kiem Lake area planning and once the facilities at the new site are fully completed. The new location must be selected to ensure it is dignified, accessible to the public and tourists, and maintains the historical and cultural significance of the monument to promote traditional educational values.
