Hanoi authorities process 513 market violations

Authorities in Hanoi have intensified market control measures, resulting in the processing of 513 violations. According to the Hanoi Market Surveillance Department, officials conducted 562 inspections, of which 554 were unannounced.

Total administrative fines exceeded 5.14 billion VND, with seized goods valued at over 808 million VND and additional goods worth more than 2.07 billion VND ordered for destruction or remediation. Among the violations, 168 cases involved intellectual property rights infringements, 139 involved smuggled goods, 50 concerned products of unknown origin, 83 related to pricing violations, 21 involved e-commerce, and 7 pertained to food safety.

Nine cases showed signs of criminal activity and were referred to investigative agencies. Notable enforcement actions included a crackdown on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) facilities, where counterfeit gas and unauthorized branding materials were discovered. Additionally, authorities seized smuggled cigarettes and addressed violations involving electronic cigarettes.
