Hanoi considers limited flying taxi testing in Hoa Lac

Hanoi officials have clarified that no official decision has yet been made to permit the testing of flying taxis in the city. While a cooperation agreement was signed on September 28 between the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology and Hung Viet Investment and Technology Trading Joint Stock Company, this remains a research and development partnership rather than an operational permit.

If approved, the testing of low-altitude economy models, including autonomous passenger and cargo vehicles such as the EHang EH-216S, is expected to be restricted to the Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park rather than being implemented city-wide. To proceed, relevant units must complete research, finalize documentation, and follow the procedures established by Resolution No. 26/2026/NQ-HĐND of the City People's Council.
