Hanoi approves deadline extensions for six major urban projects

The Hanoi People's Council has approved a resolution to extend the deadline for six major investment projects to complete the necessary conditions for construction commencement. These projects, which have a combined estimated value of nearly 2 quadrillion VND, are being implemented under special mechanisms provided by the Capital Law.

The six projects include the Red River landscape boulevard, the Hanoi International Sports Urban Area, and several multi-purpose urban areas in Dong Anh and Bac Thang Long. Other projects involve the FPT Digital Technology Park and a medical-healthcare complex for the elderly at Hanoi Medical University.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the delay in meeting legal construction requirements is due to the unprecedented scale of these projects and the complexities involved in land allocation, resettlement, and aligning with the 100-year master plan for the capital. The extension period varies across reports, ranging from 3 to 6 months.
