Hanoi expands O Cho Dua Street to resolve traffic bottlenecks

Authorities in Hanoi are widening O Cho Dua Street by reducing the width of its central median to alleviate traffic congestion. This adjustment follows the technical opening of the Hoang Cau – Voi Phuc section of Ring Road 1, which had created a bottleneck at the end of the O Cho Dua stretch.

O Cho Dua Street is noted for its high construction costs, averaging approximately 1.46 billion VND per meter, with a total project investment exceeding 800 billion VND. The expansion aims to increase the roadway width by 5.5 meters in each direction, creating three lanes for each way to improve traffic flow through this high-density intersection.
