Hanoi grants free Ring‑1 bus rides and 30% loan subsidies for green vehicle conversion

Hanoi's People's Committee, led by Vice Chairman Trương Việt Dũng, approved a plan to promote clean transport. The city will waive 100% of bus fares on routes within Ring 1 until 30 June 2027 and provide a 30% interest‑rate subsidy on loans from the Hanoi Development Investment Fund for transport operators that switch to electric or other low‑emission vehicles.

The scheme also includes direct cash assistance for households classified as poor, helping them replace gasoline‑powered motorcycles with electric models. The measures aim to boost public‑transport use, cut private‑vehicle density, and improve urban air quality as part of Resolution No. 68/2026/NQ‑HĐND.
