Hanoi community run promotes smoke-free environment and women's health
Nearly 2,000 people participated in the “Women Run for a Smoke-Free Environment and a Green Future” race held at Thong Nhat Park in Hanoi. Organized by the Vietnam Women's Newspaper in collaboration with the Disease Prevention Fund of the Ministry of Health, the event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco smoke, promote healthy lifestyles, and protect the environment.
The race, which featured a 3km distance, was held to commemorate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union and Vietnamese Women's Day. Participants included women of all ages and their family members, emphasizing a collective responsibility for community health.
Nguyen Thi Minh Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union, stated that caring for women's health benefits both individuals and future generations. The event also serves as part of a broader movement to encourage regular physical activity and the creation of smoke-free living and working spaces.
