Hanoi implements new models to promote elegant and civilized behavior
The Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has launched a new initiative to promote elegant and civilized behavior among residents, following Politburo Resolutions 80-NQ/TW and 02-NQ/TW. The program aims to preserve the capital's cultural identity by integrating social norms into daily life through ten specific models.
These models focus on various environments, including clean and green residential streets, disciplined and friendly workplaces, friendly schools, and civilized cultural and sports institutions. Other areas of focus include civilized festivals, open libraries, responsible behavior in cyberspace, friendly markets, and the development of civilized families and lineages.
To ensure sustainable progress, the city is introducing a quantitative evaluation system. Each commune and ward will select one to three models suitable for their local context. Results will be assessed using a specific scoring scale, with exemplary models achieving 80 points or higher being recognized at a summary conference scheduled for December 2026. Currently, all 126 communes and wards, along with city-level agencies, have registered their respective models.
