Hoan Kiem Lake hosts ‘Silk Ribbon of Memory’ art installation

The Hoan Kiem Ward People's Committee is implementing an art installation titled ‘Dải lụa ký ức’ (Silk Ribbon of Memory) near Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi. The project is being organized through socialized funding to commemorate the 72nd anniversary of the Capital Liberation Day and Vietnam Culture Day.

The installation features a temporary elevated walkway, a lighting system, and artistic mirror frames located along the western bank of the lake, specifically near Le Thai To Street and the southwest of Turtle Tower. Designed to provide new perspectives of the lake and Turtle Tower, the installation aims to enrich the community's experience of the historical and cultural landscape.

The exhibition is scheduled to run from October 8 to December 2, 2026. Following the conclusion of the event, all components will be dismantled to restore the lakeside area to its original state.

In separate news, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has issued updated regulations regarding the Cinema Law. These include mandates for domestic films to account for at least 20% of total screenings in theaters and television broadcasts starting January 1, 2026, as well as specific prime-time scheduling for Vietnamese films.
