Hanoi Jazztival 2026 announced to establish city's cultural brand
Organizers have introduced the Hanoi International Jazz Festival 2026 (Hanoi Jazztival 2026), scheduled to take place from September 17 to 19, 2026. The event, themed ‘Hanoi Jazz - Melodies Without Borders’, aims to establish a permanent annual cultural brand for the capital.
Musician Duong Cam has been appointed as the General Director and Music Director. He intends to create a festival with a unique ‘Hanoi DNA’ by integrating jazz into the city's urban spaces and architectural landmarks, rather than following existing international models. The festival is expected to feature 16 domestic and international jazz bands.
Performances will be spread across various locations, including the Hanoi Opera House Music Garden, the Octagonal Pavilion in Ly Thai To Park, the Thang Long Music and Dance Theatre, and the Vietnam Women's Museum. The event will also include exhibitions, international seminars, and workshops.
Local artists, including Quyen Van Minh, noted that Hanoi has already established itself as Vietnam's jazz center due to its long-standing network of clubs, dedicated musicians, and academic programs at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
