Hanoi launches motorcycle safety campaign amid electric vehicle fire warnings

Hanoi authorities have launched a campaign to improve motorcycle and moped driving skills to prevent traffic accidents. The initiative, approved by Vice Chairman Truong Viet Dung, focuses on combining legal propaganda with practical situational handling. Target groups include residents aged 30 to 50 with existing licenses, as well as youths aged 16 to 18. Training will be conducted in residential areas, schools, industrial zones, and government agencies.

Separately, experts at a seminar held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology addressed the fire risks associated with modified electric vehicles. Experts noted that while new electric models meet safety standards, unauthorized modifications to vehicle structures can compromise safety and lead to explosions. Authorities are currently developing mechanisms to control and penalize illegal vehicle modifications. Industry representatives emphasized the importance of using certified products and avoiding self-made alterations to ensure safety.
