Hanoi launches real-time flood map mini-app on iHanoi

The Hanoi Department of Science and Technology has launched a ‘Flood Map’ mini-app within the iHanoi super-app to provide real-time updates on rainfall and flooding across the capital.

Integrated directly into the iHanoi ecosystem, which currently serves over 6.4 million users, the tool utilizes official data from the Hanoi Water Drainage Company (HSDC) monitoring stations. The interface features a color-coded scale ranging from green for safe conditions to purple for severe rainfall or deep flooding, allowing users to visualize risks instantly.

Key features include the ability to toggle between different map layers, such as satellite or traffic views, and detailed pop-ups for specific locations showing rainfall amounts and flood depths. To enhance safety, the app includes a proactive push notification system. Users can customize alert radii from 1km to 100km and set specific time windows to receive automated warnings about local weather conditions and flooding.
