Hanoi market surveillance handles 4,000 violations in eight months

Hanoi market surveillance authorities processed over 4,000 violations during the first eight months of 2026. According to reports from the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, the force inspected 4,049 cases and handled 4,006 violations, resulting in 68.73 billion VND contributed to the state budget.

Key enforcement areas included food safety, intellectual property, and e-commerce. In the food safety sector, authorities handled 822 violations, with 10.9 billion VND worth of goods destroyed. Intellectual property enforcement saw 1,160 cases processed, resulting in 14.44 billion VND in administrative fines. Additionally, 65 cases showing signs of criminal activity were transferred to police for further investigation.
