Hanoi Medical University student ranks runner-up in dentistry residency exam
Nguyen Duc Phong, a student born in 2002, achieved the position of runner-up in the Odonto-Stomatology (Dentistry) residency exam at Hanoi Medical University. He earned a score of 26.74 out of 30 during the Match Day 2026 proceedings.
To reach this result, Phong studied for 12 to 14 hours per day during the final three months of preparation. He noted that while he felt he performed well, the final score exceeded his expectations. His primary goal was to pass the residency exam and continue his specialized medical training after six years of study at the university.
Hanoi Medical University offered 444 residency positions across 37 training programs this year. The competitive process involved 1,114 candidates from 18 different health science training institutions, with 780 applicants meeting the threshold to participate in Match Day.
