Hanoi officials clarify reports of kindergarten collapse

Local authorities in Da Phuc Commune, Hanoi, have clarified reports regarding the alleged collapse of Son Ca B Kindergarten following heavy rain and thunderstorms on September 10. While social media videos showed a large iron frame and canopy system collapsed within the school grounds, officials stated that no school buildings collapsed and no injuries or property damage occurred.

The structure involved was a temporary canopy erected to serve the new school year opening ceremony and student health examinations. Heavy rain and wind caused the canopy to sag and collapse. The damaged materials were cleared by the evening of September 10, and the school resumed normal operations on the morning of September 11.
