Vietnam implements digital police kiosks and new administrative reforms

Vietnam is advancing digital administrative reforms through several new initiatives led by the Ministry of Public Security. In Hanoi, a pilot ‘Smart Police Station’ kiosk has been launched. This 24/7 booth utilizes AI and voice-recognition technology to assist citizens with crime reporting, SOS emergency calls, crime alerts, locating administrative offices, and legal Q&A. The system integrates with national population data and digital identity to ensure reports are structured and forwarded instantly to relevant local units.

In Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Public Security and the municipal government have announced the establishment of the Police Culture School V. This boarding school for primary, middle, and high school students is designed to provide educational opportunities for children from disadvantaged backgrounds, including those from policy-beneficiary families and ethnic minorities. The school will be managed by the Ho Chi Minh City Police and follows the national general education system.

Additionally, the VNeID application has introduced a new feature allowing citizens to evaluate administrative reforms. Users can now provide feedback on vehicle registration procedures, assessing factors such as transparency, convenience, staff attitude, and processing times to help improve public service quality.
