Hanoi police arrest man for resisting law enforcement

Hanoi police have executed a temporary detention warrant for Nguyen Duy Tien, born in 1981, on charges of resisting law enforcement officers.

The incident occurred on August 5, 2026, when officers from the An Khanh Commune Police arrived at Tien's residence in Minh Khai village to deliver an official invitation for questioning. According to investigators, Tien responded by using a knife to threaten, attack, and pursue the task force. He subsequently used a motorcycle to chase the officers, causing public disorder on La Phu road.

Following an investigation, the Hanoi Police Investigation Agency initiated criminal proceedings on October 5, 2026. The detention was carried out on October 12, 2026, to facilitate further investigation and legal processing under Article 330 of the Penal Code.
