Hanoi police detain man for assaulting driver after traffic dispute
Hanoi police have placed Nguyen Khac Tu under criminal detention following an assault on a young man following a traffic dispute. The incident occurred around 9:00 PM on August 19 in the Ha Tri street area.
The confrontation began when Tu, riding a Honda Vision, allegedly shouted at and blocked the path of a young man, identified as D. N. T., who was driving with a female passenger. Witnesses reported that Tu exited his vehicle twice and punched the victim in the head before being stopped by bystanders.
Following the circulation of video footage of the assault on social media, Tu surrendered to the Kien Hung Ward Police on August 21. On August 22, the Hanoi Police Investigation Agency issued a decision for his criminal detention on charges of 'disturbing public order'.
