Hanoi Police Director Nguyễn Thanh Tùng named Elite Capital Citizen

Lieutenant General Nguyễn Thanh Tùng, Director of the Hanoi Police, has been honored as one of nine individuals receiving the ‘Elite Capital Citizen’ title for 2026. The recognition was presented during a ceremony in Hanoi aimed at celebrating exemplary individuals and community contributions.

During his tenure, particularly as Deputy Director and Head of the Investigation Agency from 2019 to 2025, Tùng led investigations into serious criminal, economic, corruption, and high-tech crimes. Since becoming Director in March 2025, he has focused on modernizing command methods, strengthening discipline, and enhancing security for major events.

Tùng has also prioritized digital transformation within the police force, implementing initiatives such as ‘Hanoi Smart Police,’ utilizing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for security monitoring, and deploying wireless fire alarm systems to improve public safety and urban management.
