Hanoi police dismantle nationwide male prostitution ring using fake model websites

The Hanoi City Police, together with the Cybersecurity and High‑Tech Crime Division, uncovered and dismantled a sophisticated male prostitution brokering network that operated across Vietnam through a series of websites posing as model‑booking services (e.g., traimodel.xxx, alotrai.xxx, emtrai.xxx). The ring managed roughly 180 male sex workers, including some foreigners, and generated illicit earnings of about 1.08 billion VND from early 2023 until its exposure in July 2026.

Investigators traced the operation to Vũ Quang Huy, a 37‑year‑old from Ho Chi Minh City who used a Zalo account named “Mr Gon” to negotiate prices, arrange “tour” services, and coordinate payments. Huy commissioned the design and programming of five dedicated websites at a cost of around 30 million VND, employing Âu Dương Lễ, director of Tbay Technology Services, and Hoàng Hữu Nghĩa to handle technical aspects. A police raid on a hotel in the Mỹ Đình district on 8 July caught two men in the act of selling sex, leading to Huy’s arrest in Ho Chi Minh City and the detention of his associates for further investigation.
