Hanoi police intensify weapon recovery and theft investigations

Police in Hanoi are intensifying efforts to maintain public order through weapon recovery campaigns and rapid responses to theft. In Chuyen My and Phuong Duc communes, authorities have been promoting the voluntary surrender of weapons, explosives, and supporting tools. Since the beginning of 2026, Chuyen My commune police have received three guns, five supporting tools, and three types of firecrackers from citizens, as well as an electric baton.

Simultaneously, Hanoi municipal police have reported several successful arrests of theft suspects. In Gia Lam commune, police apprehended Nguyen Van Tuyen within 24 hours of a burglary involving property valued at approximately 150 million VND. In O Dien commune, Le Minh Luyen was detained for the theft of a Honda SH125i motorcycle worth about 80 million VND. Additionally, in Viet Hung ward, authorities have initiated legal proceedings against three suspects involved in two separate incidents of breaking car windows to steal property.
