Bui Huu Hao detained after fatal workshop fire in Hanoi

Hanoi Police have officially initiated a criminal case and detained Bui Huu Hao, owner of Bui Gia Architecture and Interior Wood Co., Ltd, following a fatal fire at a woodworking workshop in the Ngoc Hoa Industrial Cluster.

The fire, which occurred on August 19 in the Chuong My district, resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left two others injured. The victims included residents from Hung Yen and Ninh Binh provinces.

Initial investigations revealed that the workshop, which occupies over 900 square meters, had not registered for fire prevention and fighting services and had not been granted a certificate of fire safety compliance by competent authorities. Bui Huu Hao faces charges under Clause 3, Article 313 of the Penal Code for “Violating regulations on fire prevention and fighting.”
