Louis City Hoang Mai security guard detained for assaulting delivery driver

Police in Hoang Mai Ward, Hanoi, have detained a security guard following a violent assault on a delivery driver at the Louis City Hoang Mai urban area on the morning of August 25.

The suspect, identified as L. X. V. (born 1988), allegedly attacked the victim, H. H. P. (born 2003), after the driver mistakenly entered a gate designated for cars. According to the victim, the guard approached him and proceeded to punch and kick him approximately 20 times, even continuing the assault while the driver was on the ground pleading for mercy. Dashcam footage of the incident circulated widely on social media.

The management unit of the Louis City urban area has issued a statement to residents, admitting to lapses in personnel management and training. The unit stated that the security guard’s actions were not in accordance with standard operating procedures. Management plans to hold meetings with involved parties to rectify the situation and is considering replacing the security provider if necessary. Local police are currently compiling documentation to handle the case according to the law.
