Phú Lê and wife prosecuted for tax evasion and illegal invoice trading

Hanoi Police have prosecuted and detained Lê Văn Phú (known as Phú Lê) and his wife, Lã Thúy Kiều, along with two others for serious accounting violations and the illegal printing, issuance, and trading of invoices to evade taxes.

Between 2017 and 2023, the couple operated through three companies—Thien Phu Import Export Trading Service, Thanh Quang Dang, and Thien Phu Group—to manufacture and sell cosmetics and functional foods. Investigators found that the couple used 10 personal bank accounts to collect over 107 billion VND in revenue without proper invoicing or tax declarations. To hide this income and reduce tax liabilities, Kiều reportedly filed taxes under her name as an individual business household.

Phú Lê, a social media figure known for his “gangster-style” music videos and large online following, admitted to promoting products such as the male physiological supplement Loramen. He stated he promoted these items based on trust in his wife, despite not fully researching the products or their legal documentation. Some advertisements were found to have exaggerated product benefits to attract customers.
