Hanoi police review over 1 million vehicles to update registration data
Hanoi traffic police, in coordination with local commune police, are conducting a major review of more than 1 million vehicles as part of a 100-day peak campaign initiated by the Ministry of Public Security. The initiative aims to clean and update vehicle registration data to ensure it is accurate, complete, and consistent with real-world status.
As of mid-October, authorities have successfully reviewed and cleaned data for over 60% of the targeted vehicles. The process has revealed numerous instances where vehicles were sold without the owners completing the required registration or license plate revocation procedures. Additionally, officials identified many vehicles with expired inspections that had not been updated in the system.
To ensure accuracy, officers have been visiting households directly to verify information, particularly in areas like Phu Dong commune. This effort is part of a broader digital transformation and administrative reform goal to build a robust database for state management.
