Hanoi promotes green agriculture and high-tech livestock farming

Hanoi is implementing strategic shifts toward green agriculture and high-tech livestock production to ensure sustainable development and environmental protection. The city is moving away from traditional farming methods that rely heavily on chemical fertilizers and pesticides, which have caused soil degradation and water pollution. Instead, there is an increasing focus on biological and organic solutions to enhance soil health and food safety.

In the livestock sector, Hanoi is transitioning from small-scale, scattered farming to concentrated, modern facilities. The city currently manages a large livestock population, including nearly 1.4 million pigs and over 40 million poultry, supplying more than 450,000 tons of meat annually. To address environmental risks and disease control, the city is prioritizing high-tech, circular, and organic farming models. This includes the comprehensive application of technology in breeding, housing, feed, and waste management, such as achieving high artificial insemination rates in cattle.
