Hanoi proposes removing 7,386 hectares from forestry planning

The Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has submitted a report to the Hanoi People's Committee proposing to remove 7,386.16 hectares of land from forestry planning. This proposal is part of the city's forestry development strategy for the 2022-2025 period and beyond.

The review covered a total of 28,978.56 hectares of forest and forestry land. Of this area, 21,592.40 hectares are recommended to remain under forestry management, while the remaining 7,386.16 hectares are slated for adjustment. The review aims to identify discrepancies between official records and actual land use on the ground.

Officials noted difficulties in the review process due to inconsistent cadastral and forestry records spanning different historical periods. Issues such as land encroachment, unauthorized construction, and land use without proper documentation were highlighted as complicating factors.
