Hanoi prosecutors indict six for human organ trafficking

The Hanoi People's Procuracy has completed the indictment of six individuals for the illegal sale and purchase of human organs, including livers and kidneys. The group, led by Trịnh Quốc Tuấn, allegedly used social media platforms to connect buyers and sellers.

According to the indictment, the defendants orchestrated the transactions by disguising them as humanitarian organ donations to bypass legal restrictions. Tuấn, who had previously sold his own kidney, reportedly used his knowledge of medical procedures to guide participants through screening, medical record collection, and compatibility testing.

The group also managed logistics, including renting accommodation in Hanoi to house sellers while they awaited medical examinations and procedures. The illegal activities resulted in billions of Vietnamese đồng in illicit profits.
