Hanoi Radio and Television to broadcast classic Vietnamese films for free

Hanoi Radio and Television and the Department of Cinema (under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) have signed a cooperation agreement to select, introduce, and broadcast Vietnamese cinematic works for free on the station's channels.

The collaboration aims to promote state-produced films, particularly revolutionary cinema, which has seen significant public interest. The project includes approximately 1,000 works categorized into feature films, documentaries, and animations.

Among the featured content are 460 films preserved on celluloid at the Vietnam Film Institute, produced between 1959 and 2014. Notable titles include ‘Em bé Hà Nội’, ‘Cánh đồng hoang’, ‘Vợ chồng A Phủ’, and ‘Bao giờ cho đến tháng Mười’. To enhance viewer engagement, broadcasts will include short introductions regarding the films' historical contexts, artistic details, or behind-the-scenes information.
