Hanoi residents hand over land for National Highway 1A expansion
Dozens of households in the Dai Tu street area of Dinh Cong Ward, Hanoi, have agreed to hand over land for the expansion of National Highway 1A. This project is a key transport initiative designed to alleviate traffic congestion and improve infrastructure at the southern gateway of Hanoi.
The total project spans approximately 36.3 km with an expected cross-section of 90 m. The segment passing through Dinh Cong Ward is about 1.49 km long, involving the recovery of over 92,243 m² of land. This affects 123 households, five organizations, and public land managed by the ward.
Local residents, including retired railway officials and small traders, have expressed support for the project due to its long-term traffic benefits, despite concerns regarding the impact on their livelihoods and relocation. Authorities are currently conducting asset surveys and verifying land origins to establish public compensation and resettlement plans.
