Long Thanh International Airport faces potential construction delays

Long Thanh International Airport Airports Corporation of Vietnam infrastructure delays construction labor shortage asphalt concrete supply

The construction of essential components at Long Thanh International Airport is facing significant progress risks. According to the Ministry of Construction, while the total completed value of Component Project 3 has reached approximately 86% (74,285 billion VND), several key packages are at risk of missing deadlines.

Out of 16 packages, four are complete. While eight packages are expected to finish by December 2026, four others face substantial challenges. Specifically, the internal traffic and technical infrastructure package (Package 4.8) is struggling due to a shortage of over 1,000 construction personnel. Additionally, the developer, Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), faces difficulties meeting the required 100,000 tons of asphalt concrete due to severe supply shortages in the market.
