Hanoi science and technology sectors contribute 296 trillion VND to economy

Hanoi's science, technology, and digital transformation sectors contributed an estimated 295,900 billion VND in added value during the first nine months of 2026, accounting for 22.85% of the city's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP).

The digital economy currently represents 16.7% of Hanoi's GRDP, marking a 13.25% increase compared to the same period last year. Significant growth was observed in specific sectors, with digital economy value in healthcare rising by 37.36% and education/training increasing by 32.86%.

In the energy sector, EVNHANOI has implemented technological advancements to develop smart grids. The application of automation and remote monitoring systems, such as SCADA/DMS, has reduced incident response times by up to 90% in applicable areas, shifting operations from manual field inspections to centralized, data-driven management.
