Hanoi pushes ahead with Ngoc Trai Opera House and Dang Thai Mai road projects

Hanoi People's Committee Chairman Vu Dai Thang inspected the progress of the Ngoc Trai Opera House and cultural park, as well as the first phase of the Dang Thai Mai road. The combined development covers more than 212,730 m² of land, with Phase 1 involving 131 households; 56 compensation plans were approved before July 2026, securing about 8.1 ha, and an additional 70 cases are slated for approval in July with another 1.6 ha expected by August. Phase 2 concerns 260 households; investigations are complete, 19 compensation plans have been approved and land for 13 cases reclaimed, with the remaining cases to be resolved by September 2026.

The city has urged all units to mobilise maximum manpower, machinery and overtime, while maintaining construction quality, environmental hygiene, traffic safety and urban order. The project, valued at over VND 12,756 billion, broke ground in October 2025 and will feature a 25,000 m² site with a total floor area of 42,000 m² designed by a renowned Italian architect.
