Hanoi tanker driver fined for spilling wastewater on Ring Road 3

Hanoi traffic police have fined a tanker driver for spilling black wastewater onto the elevated Ring Road 3 near the Keangnam building. The incident was captured on video and shared on social media, prompting an investigation by the Hanoi Traffic Police Department.

The driver, identified as T. V. H., admitted that the spill occurred around 12:15 p.m. on August 14 because the tank lid was not closed tightly, causing it to pop open during transit.

Authorities issued an administrative fine of 3 million VND and temporarily seized the driver's license for “operating a vehicle carrying waste that allows liquid to flow onto the road, causing traffic safety hazards.” Officials have advised all waste transport drivers to thoroughly inspect vehicle lids and locking mechanisms to prevent environmental pollution and road hazards.
