Hanoi Tax Department issues warning over impersonation scams

The Hanoi Tax Department has issued an urgent warning regarding individuals and groups impersonating tax authorities. Scammers are reportedly using phone calls, letters, and official-looking invitations to target organizations, businesses, individuals, and household businesses for fraudulent purposes.

To prevent exploitation, the department advised taxpayers to verify official channels. Official tax websites use the 'gdt.gov.vn' domain and possess SSL certificates (https://). The department noted that fraudulent websites often use similar URLs with slight character changes, lack SSL certificates, or use suspicious domains such as .com, .net, or .org. Additionally, scammers may request personal information or bank account details without valid justification.
