Hanoi to host Thang Long - Hanoi Festival 2026
The second Thang Long - Hanoi Festival, themed ‘Heritage Flow’, is scheduled to take place over 10 days from September 11 to 20, 2026. The event aims to connect traditional cultural values with contemporary life through art, technology, fashion, and music.
Rather than being held at a single location, the festival will span multiple heritage sites and public spaces across Hanoi, including the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature, the Hanoi Museum, Bat Trang pottery village, and the Hoan Kiem Lake area. The opening ceremony at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel will feature performances utilizing modern technologies such as 3D mapping and augmented reality (AR) to recreate the history of Thang Long - Hanoi.
Key activities include international art exchanges featuring performers from Japan, South Korea, and India, as well as exhibitions on traditional Ao Dai and historical art. The festival seeks to integrate heritage with creativity, education, and tourism.
