Hanoi to Redevelop Trương Định Housing Complex into Two 30‑Story Towers
The Trương Định residential complex in Hanoi’s Tương Mai ward, built in the 1970s‑80s, shows extensive wear after more than five decades of use. Residents report leaking roofs, damp walls, cramped apartments and improvised use of corridors for laundry and cooking.
A new master plan approved by city authorities calls for demolition of the existing ten two‑storey blocks and construction of two high‑rise towers up to 30 floors, plus three basement levels and a technical roof slab. The redevelopment will provide 1,065 apartments ranging from 26 to 81 m², housing over 2,000 people, and aims to alleviate the current infrastructure overload.
