Hanoi to relocate ‘Quyết tử để Tổ quốc quyết sinh’ monument
Hanoi authorities have announced plans to relocate the ‘Quyết tử để Tổ quốc quyết sinh’ monument from the Ba Kieu Temple national relic site to the Capital Command. The monument, which commemorates the spirit of the Hanoi people during the 60-day resistance in 1946, is scheduled to be moved and reinstalled at the 692nd Regiment of the 301st Infantry Division before September 30, 2026.
The relocation is part of a broader urban planning and landscape renovation project for the area east of Hoan Kiem Lake. This project includes the development of a new square and park, which will eventually connect to the metro line 2 station.
Experts and historians noted that the move aims to preserve the monument in a more solemn and suitable environment that aligns with its historical significance and the traditions of the armed forces. The decision follows extensive consultation with scientists and specialists to ensure the work continues to serve its educational and commemorative purposes effectively.
