Hanoi tourist train celebrates first anniversary with 100,000 passengers
The “Hanoi Five Gates” tourist train has reached a milestone of nearly 100,000 passengers during its first year of operation. Since its initial trial in August 2025 and subsequent commercial launch in September 2025, the train has completed approximately 400 services with an average occupancy rate of 80%.
The route connects Hanoi Station to Tu Son in Bac Ninh province and Long Bien Station, linking the historical Thang Long area with the Kinh Bac cultural region. The journey offers passengers access to historical sites such as the Do Temple, which honors the eight kings of the Ly Dynasty.
International tourists account for approximately 40% of the passengers, with major markets including France, Australia, China, and South Korea. The service emphasizes cultural immersion through traditional music, such as “blind man songs” and “Chèo” opera, alongside local gastronomy and designed spaces that allow passengers to interact and enjoy performances.
