Hanoi Traffic Police address congestion and illegal racing

Hanoi Traffic Police are implementing measures to resolve urban congestion and crack down on dangerous driving. Authorities have successfully addressed 44 out of 51 identified frequent traffic congestion points, with 7 points remaining for focused resolution. Officials have also identified 287 locations at risk of congestion and 128 areas prone to flooding for monitoring.

In response to rising traffic pressure and infrastructure challenges, the Traffic Police Department is coordinating with the Department of Construction to manage impacts from construction barriers and high vehicle volumes. Recent efforts have successfully removed the Dao Tan - Kim Ma - Nui Truc area and the Km192 National Highway 1A area from the congestion list.

Simultaneously, police units have increased patrols during late-night and early-morning hours to combat illegal street racing and reckless driving by youths. During a recent operation on central routes such as Lang, Truong Chinh, and Chua Boc, officers inspected nearly 100 cases, resulting in 12 violations and the seizure of 6 vehicles.
