Hanoi warehouse fires reported in Son Dong and near Vinh Tuy Bridge

A series of significant warehouse fires occurred in Hanoi during late September 2026.

On the night of September 23, a large fire broke out at a warehouse complex in Son Dong commune, near Thang Long Boulevard. The fire affected a facility spanning over 2,000 square meters, with flames fueled by wood, plastic, paper, and nylon. Approximately 100 firefighters and 22 specialized vehicles were deployed to combat the blaze, which produced high heat and toxic smoke. Authorities successfully prevented the fire from spreading to four adjacent workshops, and no casualties were reported. Investigations into the cause and property damage are ongoing.

Separately, on September 22, a fire occurred at a warehouse located at 956 Bach Dang, near the foot of Vinh Tuy Bridge. The fire involved goods such as confectionery and beverages. Firefighting teams utilized water from the Red River to control the blaze. While the fire caused significant alarm and required residents to evacuate goods, no injuries were reported, and the fire was contained by the afternoon.
