Hanoi’s Quán Nhỏ restaurant brawl results in public order prosecution

On the night of 30 July, a birthday celebration at the Quán Nhỏ restaurant on Vĩnh Tuy Street in Vĩnh Hưng ward, Hanoi, turned violent when a group led by Trịnh Công Lực clashed with another table. The confrontation escalated, and Nguyễn Trường Giang and Nguyễn Như Thanh Tùng used knives and a machete, injuring a male youth who required hospital care.

The Hanoi Criminal Police Department, together with the Vĩnh Hưng precinct, investigated the incident, identified 14 participants and collected evidence. On 1 August, authorities filed a public‑order disturbance case against the suspects and continue to expand the investigation and make arrests. The brawl was the second such incident at the venue within six months, following a similar clash on 14 February, and video of the fight circulated widely on social media.
