Hans and Ilse Breuer Foundation Extends Early-Onset Dementia Support Project MyCareNet Through 2026
The Hans and Ilse Breuer Foundation is continuing its MyCareNet programme, a model project that supports people diagnosed with dementia before age 65 and their families, until the end of 2026. Launched in April 2021 in partnership with the Institute for Future Issues of Health and Social Care (IZGS) at the Evangelical University of Hessen, the initiative provides a comprehensive online portal with information, orientation and concrete assistance. It has produced interdisciplinary networks, online training, a family‑support concept and practical recommendations for health‑system actors.
A free online guide titled “Früh betroffen – gut begleitet” (over 100 pages) consolidates medical, legal, care‑related and psychosocial advice to help relatives navigate diagnosis, day‑to‑day challenges and self‑care. The guide has been available since 31 March on the project’s website. By securing these structures, the foundation aims to keep the specialised support for early‑onset dementia visible and effective across Germany.
