Hans Hateboer returns to FC Groningen on one-year deal

Hans Hateboer has signed a one-year contract to return to FC Groningen, the club where he began his professional career. The 32-year-old defender, who previously played for Atalanta, Stade Rennes, and Olympique Lyon, joins the Dutch side as a free agent.

The agreement includes an option for an additional season. Hateboer expressed enthusiasm about his return to the Euroborg stadium, noting that his connection to the club remained strong since his departure in 2017. He stated his intention to bring his experience to the team and help the club compete in the upper reaches of the Eredivisie.
