Hans Sigl abandoned studies after university dispute

Actor Hans Sigl, widely known for his role in the series ‘Der Bergdoktor’, ended his academic studies at the University of Salzburg following a confrontation with a lecturer. The incident, which resulted in Sigl being removed from a lecture hall, led him to abandon his pursuit of a degree in teaching English and psychology.

Following this event, Sigl pivoted to a career in the performing arts. He underwent training in acting, dance, and singing at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck. This transition eventually led to his success in television roles, including ‘SOKO Kitzbühel’ and his long-running role as Dr. Martin Gruber.
