Hans Välimäki launches Bistro Bardot in Tampere

Finnish chef and restaurateur Hans Välimäki is opening a new branch of his seafood‑focused Bistro Bardot in the historic Kehräsaaren district of Tampere in November 2026. The bistro will replicate the Helsinki concept – classic European bistro cuisine, an extensive wine list and a cocktail programme – and will also offer a catering service. Välimäki will run the outlet together with long‑time Tampere restaurateur Arto Rastas, whose portfolio includes Periscope and Dining 26. The opening marks a personal milestone for Välimäki, who left Tampere more than three decades ago to study at Perho restaurant school, work abroad and build a career in Helsinki. He said, “Now it feels right to come back home.” The restaurant will serve lunch, dinner and weekend brunches year‑round.

The venture is backed by the same team behind the Helsinki Bistro Bardot, as well as partners Maria von Graevenitz‑Välimäki and Miika Lönninen, and aims to become a new favourite for Tampere locals.
