Hanse Sail 2026 in Rostock features restored historic ship and special train from Potsdam

The historic 34‑metre schooner Pascual Flores, a floating ambassador of Torrevieja, Spain, arrived at Rostock for the 2026 Hanse Sail but soon discovered a serious motor leak. After the crew lost about 150 booked guests, technicians from the local Kloska Group and a Rostock engineer worked with the ship’s chief engineer using an endoscope to locate and replace the faulty parts. Within two days the vessel was repaired and resumed its scheduled sailing tours for festival visitors.

On 8 August a special WFL charter train departed from Potsdam to Rostock and Warnemünde, offering passengers a themed travel experience to the same Hanse Sail event. The service highlighted the railway company’s passion for rail journeys, providing a relaxed alternative to road traffic and adding a festive atmosphere before guests even reach the maritime festival.
