Hansefestival Brings International Street Musicians to Korbach Pedestrian Zone
The two‑day Hansefestival took place in Korbach’s pedestrian zone on 5–6 September 2026, featuring around 20 bands and solo artists performing for 16 hours across seven locations from the main station to Professor‑Kümmell‑Straße. Organized by the city of Korbach with artistic direction by local musician and teacher Jörg Pfeil, the event showcased a mix of international street musicians, including an Italian duo performing on self‑built PVC‑pipe instruments, the Austrian ensemble SoundGurus who blend funk, pop, disco and world‑music, and the one‑man project PlaGu from Berlin. The festival was supported by the Waldeck‑Frankenberg newspaper, the Waldeck‑Frankenberger Bank, MW‑Event, the regional energy provider EWF and the district of Waldeck‑Frankenberg, and offered food and drink from the local Hanse community.
Visitors enjoyed a diverse program that combined energetic brass sounds, creative recycling instruments and lively performances, aiming to make the audience smile, dance, or both.
